Hydro- Q

$60.00
Hydroquinone, the active ingredient in Hydro-Q,has long been recognized among dermatologists as the gold standard in treating hyperpigmentation disorders. Hyperpigmentation is a condition in which patches of skin become darker than the normal surrounding skin. The darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. It is a common condition and is seen most often in middle-aged and elderly individuals as a result of exposure to ultraviolet light, certain drugs, or the existence of skin condition such as solar lentigines, melasma, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Lentigines, more commonly known as age or liver spots, are small, dark patches usually found on the hands and face. They are caused by sun damage. Melasma, similar to, but larger than lentigines, appears on the face and is especially common in pregnant women, women who are taking oral contraceptives, and women taking hormone replacement therapy. Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation is an inflamed response to skin trauma, chemical peels, laser therapy, or acne.
